Dear Parents:

            My name is Amanda Geraets.  I will be your child’s mathematics teacher this year.  I would like to take this time to give you a little information about myself.

            I have been married to Jeffrey Geraets (1995 graduate of St. Mary Catholic Schools) for 13 years.  I am originally from Miller, SD. Today I live on a farm about 6 miles from Dell Rapids with my husband and children.  We have 5 children:  Cassandra is 11 and a 6th grader at St. Mary’s, Alex would be 10 but entered heaven to be with Grandma Joanne, Weston is 9 and in 4th grader at St. Mary’s, Wyatt is 5 years old and in kindergarten at St. Mary’s, and Stephenie is 3 years old and in the preschool program at St. Mary’s.  We are also expecting a new baby in January. 

            After graduating high school in 1997, I pursued an associate’s degree in accounting.  I then decided that I wanted to become a teacher so went to the University of Sioux Falls where I received my Bachelors in Mathematics: Secondary Education.
